The BSc (Hons) Business and Tourism Management students develop a strong understanding of key business areas, including management, marketing, finance, human resources, and strategic planning, while exploring tourism-focused topics such as tourism economics, visitor behaviour, event and destination management, hospitality operations, and global tourism trends.

The course places a strong emphasis on real-world application and industry relevance. Students gain practical skills through case studies, project-based learning, and industry-linked activities, helping them understand how tourism businesses operate in competitive and multicultural environments. Key transferable skills such as communication, leadership, problem-solving, teamwork, and digital competence are developed throughout the programme.

Sustainability and responsible tourism are central to the curriculum, ensuring students understand the importance of ethical business practices, environmental stewardship, and community engagement within the tourism sector. The programme also prepares students to respond to global challenges and emerging opportunities in international tourism markets.

In the final year, students complete a dissertation or applied project, allowing them to research a tourism or business-related topic in depth and demonstrate independent thinking, analytical ability, and professional insight.

Graduates of the BSc (Hons) Business and Tourism Management programme are well prepared for careers in tourism management, hospitality, travel and airline services, events management, destination marketing, hotel management, and international business, or for further postgraduate study.
